Terms of service

1. Who we are

OrbAPI is operated by To be completed before launch ("OrbAPI", "we"). Company details are in the legal notice. By using the service you accept these terms. If you use it for an organisation, you confirm you may bind it.

2. The service

OrbAPI runs a marketplace where sellers list unused capacity from third-party API providers, and a gateway through which buyers consume it. OrbAPI is an intermediary. It is not the provider of the underlying APIs and does not guarantee their availability, accuracy or output.

While the gateway is in preview, market data shown on this site may be simulated and is labelled as such. Simulated data is not an offer and creates no obligation to trade at any price.

3. Accounts and keys

• You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract.
• Keep your OrbAPI key secret. You are responsible for everything done with it.
• Tell us at once at security@orbapi.dev if a key leaks.

4. Buyers

• Requests are billed per unit at the spot price of the listing that serves them, at the moment of the request.
• Prices change without notice. A price ceiling you set on a request is honoured or the request fails.
• Balances are prepaid. Unused balance is refundable on request, less any promotional credit.
• You must follow the acceptable use rules of the provider that serves each request.

5. Sellers

• You list capacity only if the terms of your provider and your plan allow you to share or resell it. You warrant that you have that right each time you connect a key.
• You authorise the gateway to make requests with your key up to the cap you set, and no further.
• You are paid for units consumed, at your ask price, less the marketplace fee shown when you list.
• You may pause or revoke a listing at any time. Requests already in flight will complete.
• If a provider restricts or closes your account because of a listing, that is between you and the provider. We will remove a listing on a provider's credible request.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use OrbAPI to:

• break the law or infringe anyone's rights,
• scrape or process personal data without a lawful basis,
• attack, overload or probe any system, including ours and the providers',
• list capacity obtained by fraud, stolen keys or abuse of free tiers,
• resell OrbAPI access without our written agreement.

We may suspend an account that does, and withhold payouts linked to fraud.

7. The token

$ORBAPI is a crypto-asset issued through a third-party launchpad on Robinhood Chain. We do not sell it to you, custody it for you or promise it any value. Using the gateway does not require it. The risk disclosure forms part of these terms.

8. Availability and warranty

The service is provided as is. We aim for high availability but give no guarantee of uptime, of a particular price or of capacity being available in any market. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for a claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. We are not liable for indirect loss, lost profit or lost data. Nothing limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury.

10. Ending the agreement

You may close your account at any time. We may end or suspend the service with reasonable notice, or immediately for a serious breach. Refundable balances and earned payouts are settled on closure.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. We give 30 days' notice of a material change. Continued use means acceptance.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the country where the operator is established, and disputes go to its courts, unless consumer law gives you the right to sue elsewhere. Consumers in the EU may also use an approved mediator.
